You can go to a pet store and ask to take samples of water from an aquarium. The variety of microorganisms you will see will be different, but you will see microorganisms. If you cannot obtain water from an aquarium, you might try a dog’s water bowl, as long as it has set out for a few days. There will also be microorganisms in that water.  You can also postpone the experiment until the weather is warmer.
