Students do not need to complete all of the Young Explorer titles before entering middle school. In addition to promoting a foundational understanding of the scientific method, the primary goals in elementary science should be to foster a love of learning and to point students to the Creator of all things. All the Young Explorer books are written and designed with this end in mind. 

General Science 3rd Edition is written for 7th and 8th grade students and covers all of the general sciences. It’s the perfect review for a young explorer, as well as a wonderful way to introduce new students into the scientific fields even if they haven’t had a formal elementary course. The course is designed to equip middle school students with the tools they need to easily transition from elementary to middle school level sciences.
